Introduction
When the Establishment Backlash against the Green Party’s Zionism is Racism policy began, Bella Sankey leapt straight in, borrowing from similar threats by a previous leader, Warren Morgan, nine years ago. Whatever else you can accuse Sankey of, originality is not one of them.
Sankey issued an illiterate statement threatening to prevent the Green Party from booking Brighton Conference Centre in the future.

Why? Because the motion ‘rejects the right of the Jewish people to self-determination and rejects a two-state Solution.’. Sankey is so ignorant that she doesn’t realise that in July 2024 the Knesset voted by 68-9 to reject the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The Zionist ‘Opposition’ either voted for the motion or abstained. The Times of Israel reported:
‘the only ones to oppose the resolution were lawmakers from the Arab-majority Ra’am and Hadash-Ta’al parties.’
Zionism could never accept a Palestinian state. Settler colonialism is inherently expansionist and always denies the rights of the indigenous population. Israel has a history of unprovoked attacks and wars against the indigenous population and neighbouring states such as the Suez War of 1956, the 6 day war of 1967 and the Lebanon War of 1982. This is the first time I have heard of this ‘ancient right’ of Jewish people to colonise Palestine. This is a racial myth on a par with the Nazi myth that the German people belonged to a pure, ancient “Aryan” master race (Herrenvolk) that originated in Northern Europe.
It is no coincidence that Zionism arose in the late 19th century, at the end of the colonial era. There is nothing about this ‘right’ that is ancient. Between the middle of the 19th century and the First World War about 2.5 million Russian Jews emigrated. They were fleeing poverty and pogroms. It is estimated that 75,000 emigrated to Palestine, the rest to the United States, Britain and the rest of Europe.
However half of the First Aliyah (1882-1903) of 35,000 are estimated to have left again and up to 80% of the 40,000 who made the second Aliyah (1904-14).
In other words of the 75,000 who went to Palestine barely 1%, some 25,000 stayed. There were no immigration barriers to a Jew going to Palestine. No passports. But to most Russian Jews, Jerusalem was in the United States not Palestine. See here

If this racist nonentity had been around 200 years ago she would have told people that we can support the rights of the slave owners whilst supporting the rights of the slaves. Sankey as an individual isn’t worth a barrel of warm spit. Sankey symbolises the degeneration of the Labour Party. A party without principle. Look how Burnham, having said that Labour got Gaza wrong, changed his tune, attacking Polanski and the Green Party.
You can’t support both the right of the oppressor and the oppressed You have to make a choice. In practice Sankey like Burnham has chosen Zionism and Israel.

Ever since the Green Party passed a resolution declaring that Zionism is Racism, there has been a racist firestorm in the press and among the political class. All are agreed. Jewish ‘self-determination’

Self-determination means the right of a nation to form a state. Jews are neither a nation nor a race. They are a religion. That is the only common factor between Indian, Argentinean and British Jews. They neither speak the same language nor share the same territory.
Zionism has never been about Jewish ‘self-determination’ and nor did it describe itself as such until recently. Perhaps you might be so good as to tell us when it was that Zionism described itself as Jewish self-determination?

Zionism is not a Jewish Ideology

When the British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston and the Earl of Shaftesbury, a Christian Evangelist, asked the Board of Deputies in 1840 to support the ‘return’ of Jews to Palestine they received no support. In 1842 the Board passed a resolution opposing the idea. Their concern was Jewish Emancipation, which came in 1858, not accepting that they were strangers.

Theodor Herzl, the founder of Political Zionism found his only supporters in anti-Semites. Herzl wrote in his Diaries that

Support for Zionism was the policy of the British Establishment long before British Jews supported it. Its most ardent supporter was Arthur James Balfour, a self-confessed anti-Semite. In 1905 Balfour proposed the Aliens Act in order to keep Jewish refugees out of Britain. In 1917 he authored the Balfour Declaration.
When the War Cabinet approved the Balfour Declaration, the only dissenting voice was its only Jewish member, Sir Edwin Montagu. Zionism was supported by non-Jewish racists like you Bella long before Jews supported it.
Zionism openly collaborated with anti-Semites. Alfred Rosenberg, who was hanged for war crimes by the Nuremberg Tribunal at Nuremberg wrote in 1919 that

European Jews had no right to colonise Paletine and displace the Palestinians because of a biblical myth. European Jews had no connection with Palestine. This was printed in a pamphlet by Poalei Zion (which renamed itself the Jewish Labour Movement). Zionists never had any objection to genuine anti-Semitism.
Herbert Morrison, who was Home Secretary in the wartime coalition government, opposed the immigration of Jewish refugees from Nazi persecution. InOctober 1942 Morrison received a delegation including Eleanor Rathbone MP and Lord Astor, asking him for visas for 2,000 Jewish children and the elderly in Vichy France. Morrison refused. On November 11 the Nazis overran Vichy France and these Jews were deported to Auschwitz. Morrison was the uncle of Peter Mandelson.
Your friends in the Daily Mail described the Green Party as the ‘first openly anti-Semitic party in the UK’, forgetting the time when it supported the anti-Semitic British Union of Fascists & National Socialists with a headline ‘Hurrah for the Blackshirts’.
In the 30s the Mail ran a campaign against Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany, with one particularly notorious headline of August 20, 1938 ‘German Jews Pouring Into This Country’. You and the Daily Mail make good companions, combining as you do Zionism and Anti-Semitism.

Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, at the funeral of Baruch Goldstein, who on 25 February 1994 killed 29 worshippers in the Ibrahimi mosque in Hebron told mourners that one million Arabs “are not worth a Jewish fingernail.”
Until recently Israel’s Police Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, had a picture of Goldstein displayed in his front room. This is the leader of the third largest bloc in the Knesset. But you Bella Sankey and your fellow Labour racists fail to mention that Israel is governed by open racists and genocidaires.
Dov Lior and dozens of Israeli rabbis, including the military rabbis, endorsed Torat HaMelech, a religious guide to how to kill non-Jews. It was written by two rabbis, Yitzhak Shapira and Yosef Elitzur in 2009. The following are extracts from the book:
